Another nail in the climate coffin

Japan has started drilling into deposits of methane hydrate off its eastern coast. The deposits are thought to contain enough methane to power Japan for a hundred years. That's probably enough to push the world's climate over the edge.

Think positively. Burning it is better than letting it escape to the atmosphere. Our problems will come when uncontrolled methane starts to escape naturally in ever-increasing amounts... Oh dear, that already appears to be happening!
